What happens when a person commits suicide~as per Vedas and Puranas!!

The Hidden Reality of Suicide: A Vedic Perspective on the Soul's Journey

"Life is a gift of God, and to end it is to reject the Divine grace meant for our growth."

Soul Journey

Sometimes, life feels like an unbearable weight. We think that ending our physical body will end our mental pain. However, the Vedas and Puranas explain that suicide is like "deleting a video game before it’s finished"—you don't escape the game; you just get stuck in the loading screen.

The "Sunless Worlds" (Isha Upanishad)

The Isha Upanishad warns that those who commit suicide go to worlds called Asurya (sunless).

The Human Example: Imagine being in a room where you can hear everyone talking, but you can't speak to them, touch them, or eat. This is the state of a "Preta" (ghost). Because the soul’s allotted time on earth wasn't finished, it remains in a "subtle body" without a physical one, unable to fulfill any desires.

Why is it a 'Maha Papa' (Great Sin)?

Scriptures like the Manusmriti and Rig Veda equate suicide to murder.

The Logic: Your body is not yours; it is a vehicle lent to you by God to settle your Karma. If you destroy a rented car, you have to pay a heavy fine. Similarly, by destroying the body, the soul loses its opportunity to attain Moksha (liberation) and must face even harder circumstances in the next life to learn the same lesson.

Wisdom from the Garuda Purana

In a deep dialogue, Lord Vishnu tells Garuda that even the Devtas (Celestial beings) long for a human body.

The Lesson: Life has two components: physical and mental. While the physical body may suffer from illness or poverty, the soul is immortal. Lord Vishnu explains that death was created to balance life, but "Natural Death" is the only authorized exit. Suicide is an unauthorized exit that leads to "heavy mental tortures".

The Solution: The Veda Marga

The scriptures prohibit this act because "Suicide is never the way to end life; it is the way to end the *solution* to life". The only real medicine for depression and despair is Spiritual Dhyana and guidance from a Spiritual Guru who can show you that God is with you even in your darkest hour.

A Final Note: If you are suffering, remember that your soul is stronger than any problem. Reach out for help, follow the Veda Marga, and choose life—because your soul has traveled through 8.4 million species just to get this human chance.

The Soul Vedas Message

"For the one who has conquered the ego, the soul reflects the light of the Lord."
